State of Missouri vs. George S. Revelle- First Degree Murder
Revelle was sentenced to life without parole at his first trial. New
attorneys and Jim Miller handled the appeal and the Missouri Supreme Court
ruled in Revelle's favor giving him a new trial. Revelle's new attorneys and
investigation handled by Jim, Revelle was found innocent at his second trial.

State of Florida vs. Charles Miller- Capital Death Case
This is an active case in which Jim has been brought in for the mitigation
investigation. Attorneys from Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyer College recommended
Jim to trial counsel for the case. We will have updates on the status of
this case.
State of Missouri vs. Bonnie Knapp- Capital Death Case
Bonnie was charged with murder and the state had indicated that they were
pursuing the death penalty. Jim was hired into the case and after a careful
investigation which included an out of state interview with the states
"star" witness, the states case dissolved and Bonnie was sentenced to 2nd
degree murder.
State of Missouri vs. James Copher- Capital Death Case
Copher was charged with murder and the State opted for the death penalty
based on witness accounts of the murders. The witnesses were located in this
Joplin Missouri case and interviewed by Jim. The case never made it to
trial, but Copher plead to second degree murder.
State of Missouri vs. Roy Vance- Capital Death Case
In a small community in northeast Missouri Vance and two co-defendants were
charged with capital murder for the murder of two Sheriffs deputies during
an attempted escape from jail. After being brought into the case Jim spent
several weeks on the case compiling information through interviews and his
vast experience in homicide investigation. Vance was sentenced to life
without parole for his part in the murders. A co-defendant not represented
by the Vance defense team was sentenced to death. The third received a
second degree conviction for her cooperation.
United States of America vs. Israel Ward- Federal Capital Death Case
The United States of America is seeking the death penalty in this case. Jim
was brought into this case in February of 2003. This case is set for trial
in May of 2004. Due to the sensitivity of this case, please check back for
the trial outcome. This will be a very interesting trial and Jim has also
been appointed by the government to do the mitigation investigation on this
case as well as the fact investigation.
Joe Dansby vs. State of Arkansas- Federal Death Habeas
Jim was brought into this case by the Federal Defender Office in Little
Rock. This is a current case in which Joe is currently on death row in
Arkansas and Jim is the fact investigator in this federal habeas case. Jim
has spent several weeks and countless hours on this case. Please check back
in the future as this is a true innocence case and Jim will see that Joe is
brought home.
State of Arkansas vs. Roger Lewis Coulter- Capital Death Case
Jim was hired in this case in late 2003 and is doing the mitigation
investigation. Coulter is charged with murder and rape in Arkansas.
State of Missouri vs. Richard I. Delong- Capital Death Case
Delong was charged with 5 counts of first degree murder which included three
children, the mother and an unborn child. This was a long case from 1999
which ended in 2001. Delong was found guilty at his trial and the jury opted
for life without parole instead of the death penalty. Jim worked numerous
hours on this case and was involved in all of the depositions of the
investigating police officers.
State of Missouri vs. Jon Feeney- Capital Death Case
Jim was brought into this case by Feeney's defense team. Feeney was charged
with the murder of his wife and two small children in 1996. After Jim's
investigation revealed that the eye witness, store clerk, was not working
the night of the murders in which the witness had testified during grand jury
that he saw Feeney in his store the night of the murders. Feeney had
maintained that he was at a conference some 100 miles from the crime scene.
Jim also found during a grid search a perfect match to Feeney's car in which
the owner testified at trial that they drove the route in which another eye
witness has observed car similar to Feeney's the night of the murders. The
jury returned a NOT GUILTY VERDICT at his trial.

Walter Barton vs. State of Missouri- Capital Death Case
Walter was charged and convicted of capital murder in 1997 and sentenced to
death. A Kansas City law firm asked Jim to assist with post conviction
review of the case. Jim took the case and spent nearly two and one-half
years investigating this case and testifying to his findings at different
hearings. In the fall of 2002 the Missouri Supreme Court found in Barton's
favor in part based on Jim's investigation. UPDATE: On January 30, 2004
the Court granted Barton a new trial based on newly discovered information.
State of Missouri vs. Stacie Leffingwell- Capital Murder Case
Leffingwell was charged with Capital murder as a co-defendant, see Delong
information above. Jim was able to show through witness testimony that
Stacie was not at the crime scene at the time of the murders. Stacie was
never able to receive justice as she died of cancer prior to her trial.
State of Missouri vs. Kinya Kerr- Capital Death Case
Kerr was charged for his involvement and his role in a gang related drive
by shooting. Jim spent months investigating this case through crime scene
investigation and witness interviews. Kinya was found guilty of 2nd degree
murder at his trial in 2001.
State of Missouri vs. Patrick Tanton-2 counts sexual assault of juveniles
Mr. Tanton was charged with these two crimes during his duties as a school
teacher in a rural southwest Missouri county. Jim discovered Tanton's
innocence through locating witnesses that gave Jim taped statements that
they were with the two alleged defendants when they decided to fabricate the
story as a way of getting even for classroom punishment. The charges were
later dropped due to the thorough investigation completed by Jim.
State of Missouri vs. Eddie Shepherd- Drug Trafficking
Shepherd was the owner of a small fleet of over the road trucks. In 1997 one
of Shepherd's drivers was stopped and a large amount of methamphetamine was
located in the truck. Jim was brought into the case on Shepherd's behalf. Jim
was able to identify the informant on the case and then found eye witnesses
who observed the informant going into the barn at Shepherd's home allegedly
placing drugs on his property. It was later found out that the informant was
also the prosecutor's nephew. The prosecutor disqualified that office and the
Missouri Attorney General declined to file charges.
United States of America vs. Kelvin Washington- Federal Death Case
This case was originally set to seek death by the government. Jim was
appointed by the Federal Courts. The investigation was very successful and
the Attorney General decided to not pursue death. This case is still pending
in Federal Court.
State of Missouri vs. Bernard Rhodes- Capital Death Case
Jim was retained as an expert in this case and spent several months
investigating this case. Rhodes was sentenced to life without parole. The
death penalty was not pursued as the case became clear.
